A week late, but here it is!
Sorry for this super late mod post. We’ve all been very, very busy. With life and work, mostly.
You may post all things David Mitchell until tomorrow. Post your thoughts, reviews, or anything at all that you feel like sharing with the rest of Read Hard! By tomorrow, we’ll also be posting the fifth book and a few more things. So watch out!

Dear David Mitchell,
I would like to congratulate you on a ‘The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet’. But I have to say, it’s not that part one of your book was boring uneventful lacking in suspenseful moments and left me feeling as restless as the men on Dejima, it’s just that 170 or so pages without a huge bang, and going through Jacob’s life with little to cheer him on (I could cheer...

Dear Read Hard members,

A question.
I’m wondering if anyone else finds that ‘The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet’ should be a play or a movie?
I’m enjoying the book but cannot help but think that if it was adapted to either of those mentioned above, it would pack an even more powerful punch than it does in its print form.
Either way, an throughly enjoyable read.

A little late, but I hope you understand, droogs.
I have been frantically trying to finish A Clockwork Orange since my book came in the mail so late. To be honest I found it really slow up until maybe page 100, then things finally started getting good, but before then I had to force myself to keep reading. In the beginning it was slow and I was incredibly annoyed with the nadsat slang, even though it wasn’t hard for me to pick up since most...

‘A Clockwork Orange’ by Anthony Burgess
If there is anyone on the face of this planet that cannot handle violence or, ultra-violence, if I may be so bold as to borrow from Alex’s vocabulary, it has to be me. While as a child and younger teenager I was able to handle anything and everything, I found myself in a very awkward and terrifying position come my senior year in high...
